Our cabin winterization checklist includes:

• Shutting off the main water supply
• Shut down of the well (if applicable)
• Drain the water heater
• Drain water softeners, water lines, toilets, sinks and all plumbing fixtures
• Put safe, potable/RV anti-freeze into the toilets and anything that has drain traps to assure no freezing occurs

NOTE: No matter how good the pipe blowout process is there will always be a little water that collects in the traps that could freeze and burst. Our experience tells us that putting a small amount of safe, potable/RV anti-freeze into toilets and drain traps is critical to the safety of your plumbing system.
